Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions

Quota & Usage

Aspectr tracks three quotas that reset monthly:

Images — Each generated image format counts as one. Upload 1 photo and export to 5 ad sizes = 5 images used.

Video minutes — Based on your source video duration multiplied by the number of output formats. A 30-second video exported to 4 formats uses 2 minutes.

Storage — The total data processed each month.

Your uploads don't count toward quota — only the outputs you generate.

Video quota is measured in minutes, not number of videos. The calculation is simple: video duration multiplied by the number of output formats.

Example: You upload a 20-second video and export to 3 formats: 20 seconds = 0.33 minutes × 3 formats = 1 minute used

Shorter videos and fewer formats use less quota, giving you flexibility in how you use your allowance.

You'll see a notification before processing that shows exactly how many outputs you're about to use. If you reach your limit, you can upgrade to a higher plan to continue.

We don't charge surprise overage fees — you're always in control.

We recommend using the highest quality source files for best results. The tool will warn you if your input resolution is too low for certain output formats.

Yes! While Aspectr includes 290+ predefined formats across 20 platforms, paid plans can also add unlimited custom dimensions for any project.

Custom formats work exactly like built-in formats — with smart cropping and all the same features.

Overlays & Frames

Overlay presets let you add your logo, text, and call-to-action buttons on top of your images and videos. Create a preset once with your branding elements, then apply it across all your ad formats automatically.

Each format gets the overlay positioned correctly — no manual placement needed. Trial accounts include 3 presets; paid plans are unlimited.

Yes. You can create multiple overlay presets — for example, one for Instagram Stories and another for YouTube Thumbnails — and assign different presets to different formats within the same batch.

Each preset remembers its element positions, sizes, and timing (for video overlays).

Yes. When you upload a video, you can scrub through and select the perfect frame. That frame is then resized as a still image across all your selected formats.

Great for thumbnails, social media posts, or stand-alone image ads derived from video content.

Yes. The video overlay editor includes a visual timeline where you set exactly when each element — logo, text, CTA — appears and disappears.

You can stagger entries, overlap elements, or have them persist throughout the entire video. The timeline gives you frame-accurate control.
